Eat Mornington Peninsula
The exciting addition to the event this year will be a showcase of 9 local restaurants (including five with a Chef’s Hat – Age Good Food Guide) who will create inspiring entrée dishes to complement the wines and offer those attending a chance to taste a range of their talents. Five restaurants with a Chef’s Hat is a first for any region, and is an indication of the quality of food being created to match the forty year development of premium wines. Chefs in the region are pushing boundaries and have a wonderful camaraderie which is not often seen outside their kitchens. But this year at Winter Wine Fest a total of nine restaurants will showcase their talents and welcome you to enjoy their creations as much as they do!

Mornington Peninsula Vignerons also welcome visitors to warm Cellar Doors to taste new release wines, visit old favourites and to experience the seasonal offerings of the region. There is more to pruning in June, although many vignerons relish the rejuvenation of the vine following the busy harvest season. The majesty of the vineyards is perhaps no more apparent than when stripped bare.
Each year, the Queens Birthday Weekend offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in wine, wander with the winemakers, visit the vineyards and taste new vintages. Three days of wine, food and song, pinot noir, chardonnay, pinot gris, shiraz, and a range of other less well known wines for the region, are matched with fine Australian cuisine, pizzas, emu snags & regional fare. Whether at a vintage review, a wine and food matching program, blending your own sparkling dosage, or simply chatting with the maker, the wines of the region will be on show in grand style.
