Peninsula Piers and Pinots
12 Mar 2017 - 12 Mar 2017
Labor Day Weekend Sunday annually in March at Flinders Foreshore from 12 - 3pm
Mornington Peninsula is uniquely situated with 3 breezes delivered via Port Phillip Bay, Western Port and Bass Strait. The effect creates ideal conditions for the region's pinots - wines with outstanding flavors, balanced natural acidity and fine tannins. This event has been held annually on the Sunday of the Victorian Labour Day long weekend, since 2002 and is a very popular wine event.
23 Mornington Peninsula Pinot producers gathered by the sea at our annual Labour Day weekend showcase to taste a range of Pinots along with local food to purchase from George Bass Cafe (part of Flinders Hotel group), Calamari Brothers, soft drinks and coffee from Red Hill Roast and music by the ever popular Rob Papp add to a fabulous festive vibe. A wonderful range of wines was available to taste - or to buy a glass to enjoy along with a seaside lunch. The annual Piers & Pinots Yacht Race, conducted by the Flinders Yacht Club, was also held on the day.
Mornington Peninsula Piers & Pinots is held at Flinders foreshore. Tickets are $35 per person and each ticket includes a complimentary Riedel tasting glass, tasting notes and all wine tastings between 12noon - 3pm.
